More than 100 inidividuals annually assist LARASA with its programmatic activities and outreach events. Volunteers support LARASA’s programmatic initiatives by serving as outreach workers known as Promotoras. From being ESL teachers for our Adult Education Program to tutoring high school students at our Learning Centers to assisting in the classrooms as supplemental instructors, Promotoras do a variety of outreach work. Volunteers have helped make LARASA’s Bernie Valdez Awards Luncheon successful by donating their time and energy before each event as planners, coordinators, media consultants, and communicators, and during each event as outreach personnel, emcees, runners and general assistants to LARASA staff. Volunteers continue to help LARASA with an archiving project that stores all historical documents in computers systems. Volunteers also help LARASA maintain pride of place building/property clean. We are currently seeking Promotoras to liaise with LARASA's Family Health Program, specifically in the area of nutrition. If you are interested, please complete the volunteer application.
